This is probably the most often asked question and probably the hardest question to answer if your artwork isn't present. The best way to achieve an accurate quote for framing your artwork is to bring it into the store, choose the frame and mats you would like to use with your artwork and receive an exact estimate. This does not lock you into anything and is completely free. I like to think that I have customer friendly pricing and try to work with every budget. If your artwork isn't readily available, I can offer an "approximate" price which could end up being higher or lower depending on your final choices.
If you have a valuable piece of artwork (either monetarily or sentimentally valuable) that you want to have museum quality framing done for, we have the materials. We offer museum glass, which will protect your artwork from UV light along with 100% rag quality mats, which will NOT damage your artwork in any way.
The answer to this question depends on what you are framing and where you intend on hanging your picture. If you are framing something valuable, such as a signed and numbered print, you would want to put a conservation glass on your picture. This glass offers blockage from most UV rays, which protects your picture from fading. We also offer museum quality glass, as mentioned above. This glass also offers blockage from most UV rays, but in addition, has a coating that makes the glass look almost invisible. Regular clear glass and regular non-glare glass are also available.
Drymounting is a process that is used on items such as photographs, posters or certificates...non-valuable items. It requires the use of heat and a glue-like tissue paper that adheres to the item to a backing, such as foamcore, and is permanent. The process keeps the framed piece from waving once it is in the frame and keeps it from slipping from under the mats. But again, this process is permanent and is not recommended for all types of artwork.
Generally, it takes 1- 1 1/2 weeks to have something custom framed. More difficult projects such as football jerseys or 3-dimensional items require more time, usually an additional week.
